Why is it that summer is always busier than you first expect?
Summer should be seemingly endless days full of doing nothing.
This summer on the other hand has been very VERY EXTREMELY busy. The first week or so was full of...school.
I was studying for my end of the year tests which I ended up taking in July. Oh the joys of being home schooled. :)
The next few weeks were full of building a greenhouse in our backyard! I learned that construction is actually more like sewing than most people would realize. :D
During the weeks of building the greenhouse, we found out a dear friend was getting married, we hadn't seen his family for twelve years so we decided to take three weeks to visit them.
Before we left, my sister and I went to a youth conference for a week. I learned SSOOO much, made so many new friends and became ever so much closer with my Savior. All through the week, we practiced singing songs as a choir. Then, at the end of the week as a close of conference, we sang them. I enjoyed that so much! Singing with a whole bass and tenor section gives so much depth to the harmony!
The day after the conference, we packed up for our big trip and the day after that we left home for three weeks!
Our trip started out shaky with some pretty scary incidents but by the second day, we had smooth sailing.
Speaking of sailing, on our trip, we got to go out on a sailboat on the ocean! Living in the middle of the US doesn't give much room for that so we didn't know anything about it and had to be instructed in just about every thing. Our favorite saying now is: "How many Landlubbers does it take to sail a boat?"
We finally made it back home and immediately started harvesting veggies from a farm up north. We are still processing boxes of Potatoes, Onions, Beets, and Cabbage, we have finished processing boxes full of carrots, corn, and some onions. We go back to the farm next Tuesday which is a little less than a week away! I need to get working!
Oh well... :D
School is going well, maybe. :P
Yesterday we had our chimney cleaned by a chimney sweep! He came in full historic attire: Black shirt, Black Vest, Black dress pants, a Black dress coat, and a Top Hat! We had lots of fun watching him clean it out.
If there is a bad storm and the power goes out, we will not be cold because we will have a fire in the fireplace! :)
